PRINCE MICHEL VINEYARD

Prince Michel Vineyard and Winery is one of the oldest and most recognized wineries in the State of Virginia and the East Coast. Located 40 miles north of Charlottesville on route 29, prince Michel specializes in bordeaux style blending. The prince Michel Suites are a hidden treasure in Central Virginia, providing the perfect base for touring virginia and weekend getaways.

 

 

DELFOSSE VINEYARDS

DelFosse Vineyards & Winery, established in 2000 in the Monticello wine region, features a unique European-style terraced terrain that provides unique wine-growing conditions. We specialize in high end premium varietal wines and currently have ten varietals planted: Chardonnay, Viognier, Sauvignon Blanc, Petit Manseng, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Malbec, Petit Verdot and Chambourcin.

 

MIRACLE VALLEY VINEYARD

Miracle Valley Vineyard is located on the gentle slopes of Little Cobbler Mountain in Delaplane, VA. The winery overlooks long vineyard vistas, an old farm house, an old barn, and a beautiful pond nestled in a private valley. Located on 50 acres of spectacular Fauquier County farm land, Miracle Valley Vineyard and Winery is an inviting place to spend an afternoon or have an event. Varieties include Chardonnay, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc & Viognier.

 

CHATEAU MORRISETTE

Château Morrisette is one of the oldest and largest wineries in Virginia. Located in a spectacular natural setting in rural southwestern Virginia, our winery production building and visitor center is considered the largest salvaged timber-frame building in the United States. From light-bodied Rieslings and buttery Chardonnays, to the bright fruit of our Chambourcin and rich, full-bodied Cabernets, our wine making team makes over 18 different award-winning wines.  Our location on the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway has introduced thousands of visitors to Virginia wines.

 

THE WILLIAMSBURG WINERY

The Williamsburg Winery is one of Virginia's largest wineries, with an annual production of some 60,000 cases. The winery was established in 1985 and the first wine produced, Governor's White, won a gold medal within two weeks. Today, Governor's White is the most popular wine made at the winery. 50+ acres of vineyards surround the winery offering a beautiful backdrop to the Old World-style village and the new Wedmore Place Hotel overlooking the James River and the vineyards.

 

LITTLE WASHINGTON WINERY

Little Washington Winery is tucked into the edge of Shenandoah National Park near Washington, Virginia, the town George Washington designed in 1749. This boutique winery specializes in small lots of distinctive handcrafted wines, using classic varietals: Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Reisling and the fruits of the Blue Ridge mountains. Getting there is half the fun ... this tasting room is located within an hour of Washington DC, along Route 211, one of the most scenic drives in the State of Virginia.

 

ASPEN DALE WINERY

Located in Delaplane, on one of the most exciting wine trails in the Washington, D.C. area, Aspen Dale Winery at the Barn offers a unique experience for wine lovers. Aspen Dale captures the best of Colonial and European wine making techniques and blendings. The ambience of the 200 year-old barn winery and thoroughbred horse farm adds to the charm of this destination.

 

ATHENA VINEYARDS

Athena Vineyards  overlook the Great Wicomico River with 15 acres of over a 20 varieties of grapes.  Not far from the Chesapeake Bay, Athena embraces the lifestyle of the area - crabs, rockfish and oysters are common in the region. Our philosophy of growing grapes and making wine in an environmentally safe manner is an important responsibility to land stewardship and the long-term relationship with our customers, our neighbors and the world.  We strive to be environmentally friendly, economically sound and socially responsible with all our winery and viticulture practices.

 

VINCENT'S VINEYARD

Vincent’s Vineyard is a 6 generation family farm located in Russell County in Southwest Virginia. This is the newest winery in Virginia Wine Country and The Wine Festival at The Plains marks their Northern Virginia public debut. Vines planted include Traminette, Cabernet Franc, Steuben, Chambourcin, Chardonel, Chardonnay and a few Concord for those jelly and juice lovers.

 

COOPER VINEYARDS

At Cooper, the quest to produce excellent wines  from the vines of our vineyard drives our decisions. We believe that a small winery, with proper effort and diligence can make wines of distinction. We are a specialty producer of Norton and Viognier. Come experience our award-winning Rhadsody, our 100% Virginia Wines and the adventure of creating a vineyard and winery. You’ll enjoy our unique tasting room, which is located inside the winery itself.

 

DAVIS VALLEY WINERY  

Davis Valley Winery and Vineyard is Smyth County’s first farm winery, located along America’s favorite scenic road, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and we’re right on the path to Virginia’s Crooked Road. Our 45 acres of grapes are nestled on a beautiful 363 acre estate in the mountains of Southwestern Virginia, just minutes off Interstate 81 at Exit54. Come sample our wines from our 100-year old oak antique bar, tour the winery, browse the gift shop, or just sit on the veranda and enjoy the spectacular panoramic vistas from our scenic hilltop setting.

 

MATTAPONI WINERY

Take a taste in time with Mattaponi Wine. The name comes from our three rivers in Spotsylvania County, Virginia: Matta, Po, and the Ni, which has also been used in history to name the Indian tribe once ruled by Chieftain Powhatan, Pocahontas' father.  We are a new family-owned winery with a passion for making wonderful wines, which includes our specialty fruit wines for over 20 years.  The names of our specialty wines are written in the Algonquin language, which is the Native American Indian language that was almost lost when the settlers arrived to America. The delightful berries of Virginia have been used for many generations, and today we bring to you our interesting selection of tasteful wines.

 

FABBIOLI CELLARS

Winemaker Doug Fabbioli has been growing and making wines in Virginia over the past 15 years.  Fabbioli Cellars is the culmination of his 25 years experience over three distinct wine regions including Finger Lakes and the Carneros.  The focus is on high quality and low production of red wines that combine world style with Virginia “Terroir.”  With limited wine tasting at the winery, it is wise to take advantage of the opportunity to taste what some consider to be the best reds in the state.

 

 

 

GABRIELE RAUSSE WINERY

One could easily say that wines reflect the maker, Gabriele Rausse, the charming Italian winemaker is an original pioneer in the Virginia wine industry. Gabriele Rausse wines bear an unmistakable European stamp. The Winery is located in Charlottesville on 7 acres of vineyard. Gabriele purchases most of his fruit from the vineyards that he has planted for several growers. He produces all of the products at his winery with the help of his son, Tim. The winery is open to the public by appointed only, as Gabriele works full-time overseeing the garden grounds of Monticello.

 

MOLON LAVE VINEYARDS

Molon Lave is a fifty acre estate winery located in Virginia’s pristine countryside, surrounded by grapevines, horses and ponds. Molon Lave wines represent a fusion of European traditional winemaking style and quality of fine Virginia grapes. The pleasant bouquet and exceptional flavors of Molon Lave’s signature Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Viognier, Chambourcin,  Riesling and Pinot Gris complete the experience of Virginia Wine Country.

 

CASTLE HILL CIDER

Originally built in 1764, in Keswick, Virginia, Castle Hill was the home of Colonel Thomas Walker, guardian and mentor to Thomas Jefferson. Today, Castle Hill reclaims its glory as a cidery and premiere venue for weddings and special events. Make some history of your own at The Barn in the heart of Central Virginia's equestrian and fox hunting country.

 

UNICORN WINERY

Nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, on one of Virginia's most scenic drives (Route 211 west from Warrenton) Unicorn Winery specializes in producing premium Virginia varietal wines. Taste a new breed of wines at Unicorn Winery, including Merlot, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Vidal. Take a break from the city and relax a bit in Virginia wine country where things are slower. Experience the beauty of the Blue Ridge with a picnic pond side, stroll down to the banks of the Rappahannock River, or enjoy playing horseshoes in our “Unicornshoe Pit”.

 

DOUKENIE VINEYARDS

Doukénie Winery strives to produce the finest wines possible and to give patrons an educational and memorable experience. Doukenie is a 500 acre working farm nestled at the base of the Short Hill Mountain in Loudoun County. The natural beauty of the farm and pond provides the perfect place for a picnic. Guests are welcome to bring a fishing pole or sit and enjoy the drama of the cattle, horses, geese and ducks that reside on the farm. Wines include Mandolin, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc and Merlot as well as special blends.

 

CASTLE GRUEN VINEYARDS

Castle Gruen Vineyards and Winery, owned and operated by the Gruenburg Family, is tucked into the gorgeous foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Madison County. Wines in the Castle Gruen portfolio include Traminette, Chardonnay, Pricess Rose - a distinctive blend of Traminette and Merlot, and Merlot. We look forward to sharing Castle Gruen wines with you! PHILIP CARTER WINERY

There are few places that can boast the depth of Virginia wine history that Philip Carter Winery reflects. The family carries a two hundred and fifty year legacy as maker of the first recognized fine wine in America. It was Charles Carter, who, in 1762, sent the London Society for the Encouragement of the Arts a dozen bottles of his Virginia wine. The society awarded Carter a gold medal as the first person to make a "spirited attempt towards the accomplishment of their views, respecting wine in America." Located in Hume, Philip Carter Winery is seated on 27 acres of rolling hills in the heart of Fauquier County’s Wine Country.

 

MEDITERRANEAN CELLARS

Mediterranean Cellars is located just north of Warrenton, among the rolling hills of the Virginia countryside. This family owned winery was established in 2003 and this year its owner and winemaker is celebrating 50 years of wine-making tradition. An impressive variety of high-quality wines is availble for tasting and purchase, all made with grapes grown and processed on the property. Varietals include Chardonnay, Vidal Blanc, Viognier, Cabernet Franc, Chambourcin, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Specialty wines include Rechina, a traditional Greek dry white wine, Matina’s Rose, Calypso, Romance and Mejortage.

 

 

MOUNTAIN ROSE VINEYARD

MountainRose Winery and Vineyard is located in the heart of the specular Appalachian Mountains. The vineyards, growing 11 varieties of grapes, are planted on top of the Eastern Continental Divide at an elevation of 2640 feet. This cooler weather location, soils rich in minerals, and handpicked and sorted grapes creates award winning wines that are fruity and smooth. MountainRose Winery features 14 wines, both blends and varietals including two Best of Show Awards for late harvest Vidal Blanc, Autumn Gold. Riesling and  Cabernet Franc both brought home Governor’s Cup awards in 2011. The 2009 Traminette won Gold in Grand Harvest and Wines of the South and Dorchester, a Chambourcin blend, a Best in Reds. Our mission is to create not just awards but wonderful memories for all wine drinkers every time they sip one of our smooth, balanced wines.

 

POTOMAC POINT WINERY

Potomac Point Winery is a grand Meditteranean–style estate, located in Stafford County. Nine distinctive varietals: make up the portfolio of this destination - Abbinato - A Chianti style Italian blend, Cabernet Franc,  La Belle Vie, Norton (2006) - Virginia' s own native varietal, Richland Reserve - a blend of Bordeaux varietals, Rabelos Virginia Dessert Wine, Late Harvest Vidal Blanc Dessert Wine, Richland Reserve Viognier, and our favorite - Pocahontas Reserve Norton  - Packaged in a beautiful stoneware commemorative bottle.

 

 

MARTERELLA WINERY

Marterella winery is located in the heart of Virginia Horse & Wine Country, just North of Old Town Warrenton. This boutique winery specializes in small lot production. The views are spectacular of the vineyard and nearby Blue Ridge Foothills. The tasting room is nestled in the middle of an 8 acre vineyard which is planted in Cabernet Franc, Pinot Grigio, Merlot, Petit Manseng, Vidal Blanc and Chambourcin. The Tasting Room is currently closed to the public. Please plan to stock up on Marterella wines at the festival.
